River Nile

‘River Nile’ is a series of photos taken for an editorial selection for Overdue Magazine. This shoot takes place in Dover, featuring six different looks.

The Story

Close your eyes. Take a deep breath. Imagine yourself breathing in the fresh salty air, a winter’s morning wind nipping your skin. It’s the beginning of January 2022 and you’ve found yourself in Dover, creating the most cinematic and breathtaking imagery with a camera and wooden chair. ‘River Nile’ for Overdue Magazine brought a level of creativity, wonder and refreshment to the beginning of the year. Not in just a physical way but also with the outcome. The model was able to tap into a personal level of freedom with the clothes and her body and the images and cinematography followed pursuit. It was truly something special to work with such a tight-knit and dedicated team to create such stunning work.

The series of photos features six different looks which all relate to each other through shape and colour. Going for a shade which would compliment the chosen location whilst bringing out the complexion of the model was important to create different levels of depth between each look. This allowed the camera to capture not only the beaut of the clothes but also other simplicity and composition of the photos as a whole.
